Welcome to Our Kindergarten Page
Our Kindergarten Teacher is Miss Kathryn Jones:
My name is Kathryn Jones and I am the Kindergarten teacher at All Saints Catholic Academy. I was born, raised, and lived in Ironwood all my life. I have been teaching elementary school for the past twenty years with the last six at All Saints teaching Kindergarten. I also have teaching experience in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I also taught physical education. I truly love teaching Kindergarten. It is a very rewarding experience.
In our all day Kindergarten Program, students are fully prepared in all of the academic areas: Reading, Math, Handwriting, Religion, Science, and Social Studies. Music, art, physical education, computers, library, learning centers, and playtime provide for a well rounded educational experience. The students really enjoy their Kindergareten experience.
A develpomentally appropriate full-day Kindergarten Program can offer many things:a more relaxed, less hurried school day with more varied experiences, higher long-term achievement, higher reading scores in early grades, greater progress in social skills, more reinforcement of positive social behaviors, higer self-estem and independence, more opportunites for child-centered creative activities, more time for field trips, activity centers, projects, and free play, and students learn more in Literacy and Mathematics.
