All About the 5th Grade

SUBJECT

  Week of 6/1- 6/4

Reading

Students will read select stories from their textbook to read.  The students will analyze the setting, characters, and plot.  They will summarize the story in five facts.

Spelling    

 

Students will define and spell from Math.

Language

 

Students will identify and use prepositions correctly in sentences.

Computer Lab

Students will add information to a database.

Writing

 

Math

 

Students will multiply fractions by other fractions, multiply mixed numbers, and learn the properties of multiplication.

Religion

 

Students will identify issues of social justice and how they may participate in correcting problems in our world. .

United States History

Students will learn about the colonial economy, free enterprise, and how slavery came into the colonies.

Science

The students are counting down the days.  We will be busy learning the last lessons from our books.  The school picnic is Friday, June 4th at the Longyear Park.  The Honors Assembly is Wednesday, June 2 beginning at 1:00.  The last days of school are always hectic and fun.
